Yoga for children is centered around play. Using their natural imagination, students will explore their world while learning flexibility and strength through yoga poses. Yoga helps to develop each student's mind-body connection and is adaptable to each student's skill level. Yoga poses target the breath, bringing attention to how valuable breath recognition and control can be to our overall sense of well being. Students will work to develop team skills and focus through cooperative play activities and through partner poses. They will be able to use their natural energies in a positive and engaging manner, developing self-control and body awareness. All activities help students recognize their natural abilities, promoting self-esteem and self confidence. Each student is encouraged to find and share their unique self!
